The Devon Rex is a breed that is unique in appearance large eyes, a short muzzle, prominent cheekbones, and those ears! The ears are gigantic and ultra wide-set at the base, extend beyond the side of the head, have large bells on the back, and evoke a feeling in onlookers of being in the presence of an extraterrestrial.

About the Selkirk Rex. One of the newest natural breeds, this naturally curly cat originated from a housecat, Miss DePesto of Noface, found in a shelter in Montana. Given to Persian breeder, Jeri Newman of Montana, who bred her to PhotoFinish of Deekay, a black Persian.

All contours of the Cornish Rex are gently curved. By nature, the Cornish Rex is intelligent, alert, and generally likes to be handled. PROFILE: a curve comprised of two convex arcs. The forehead is rounded, the nose break smooth and mild, and the Roman nose has a high prominent bridge.

Feb 8, 2019 CFA officially recognizes 44 pedigreed cat breeds and is considered the worlds gold standard of registries only accepting those breeds that undergo a rigorous approval process. In addition to 44 pedigreed breeds, CFA records the non-pedigreed, Household Pet which came in 12th place this year.

The first ever Devon Rex cat came to the United States in 1968 and in 1972, AFCA was the first organization to accept these cats for the championship. The Cat Fanciers Association welcomed the feline in 1983. Today, all the cat organizations accept Devon Rex cats for the championship.
